What to do if you’re involved in an auto accident. 

  • Stop your car and find out if anyone is injured & call for medical help if necessary.
    • Contact the police or highway patrol. They will advise you if their response to the scene is necessary. If police are present at the time of the accident, obtain the officer’s name, phone number and police report number.
    • Give details of the accident and cooperate with the police in providing answers to their questions.
    • Discuss the accident only with the police, your insurance agent or our insurance company.
    • Take reasonable steps to protect your car from further damage.
    • If necessary, have the car towed to a repair shop.
    • Obtain the following information:
      • The names and addresses of all drivers and passengers involved in the accident.
      • License plate numbers.
      • The make and model of each car.
      • Drivers license number.
      • Insurance identifications.
      • The names and addresses of witnesses.
  • Contact us as soon as possible to file a claim.

Please don’t…

  • Do not admit fault at the scene of the accident.
  • Do not order any repair work done until the insurance adjuster has had a chance to inspect and appraise the damage.

Please Note: If you run into an unattended vehicle or object, try to find the owner. If you can’t locate the owner, leave a note with your name, address and phone number.
